Teaching:

Earth and Space Science

Years at PALCS: 2

Why did Mr. Hutto get into teaching?

"For the glory and fortune of course!…nah, just kidding.  Seriously, I do it because I have a passion for science and I want to share that passion and love of learning with young people.  I do it because the society of the future will be shaped by the students of today.  I teach because I want to help kids learn to be better people.

"I enjoy PALCS for the flexibility and opportunities that it gives students in Pennsylvania.  I love that this school provides a reasonable alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar education.  I enjoy that PALCS fills a real need for so many students and parents in this state."

Mr. Hutto is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at Drexel University.  He would also like to continue working on the PALCS High Altitude Balloon project - "one of our goals is to try to beat the altitude record of 101,000 feet.  We’ve got a long way to go, but I think we can do it!"
