Brief Biography: Mr. West is an active music educator, adjudicator, performer, clinician, arranger, and composer in the Greater Philadelphia Area specializing in Blended Learning strategies for secondary music ensembles. He has over 20 years of experience as a concert band director, marching band director, jazz band director, orchestra director, choral director, electronic music teacher, private instructor, freelance arranger/composer, and music and visual adjudicator. Mr. West has taught at the secondary level in both the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has been a music judge for Drum Corps International since 2016 and a music, visual, and jazz judge for Cavalcade of Bands since 2008. He has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University and is currently working on a master’s degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College. Mr. West was an associate director of the Warren Jr. Military Band of Youngstown, Ohio from 1995 to 2005. He was a member of the Penn State Marching Blue Band from 1991 to 1995 and a member of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in 1993 and 1994. He is currently a member of NAfME, PMEA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Jazz Education Network, ASCAP, and TI:ME.
