Brief Biography: Mrs. Crisafio’s love of French is tied to her love of teaching. “The verb in French that means ‘to teach,’ apprendre, can also be used to express ‘to learn,’” she explains. “I became a teacher because I love learning. I have learned as much from my students as from textbooks and life experiences.” Mrs. Crisafio came to PALCS with diverse teaching experience, having taught English as a Second Language (TEFL) for three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mauritania before teaching French in New York City, several public and private Pittsburgh schools and homeschooling her two sons while directing a French Club. She even has experience in cyber schools, having spent a year teaching various subjects for the Einstein Academy Cyber School.
