Brief Biography: Ms. Strellec explains, “when I was young, I wanted to become a teacher; however, I began college moving in a different direction. It was by accident that I found anthropology and history. I took a class because it fit in my schedule and completed a requirement. I ended up loving it so much that I switched my major and career path, and I’ve been teaching ever since!”
Ms. Strellec started teaching history in a brick-and-mortar public school for three years. “The traditional school model works well for many students but not EVERY student. Some students needed a different approach to education, and it was disheartening to watch students become disengaged from their education because we weren’t meeting their needs. I then found cyber education. Cyber schools combine the best of public education with the flexibility and creativity to be able to meet our students’ needs. I taught in a national online education company for five years and another Pennsylvania cyber school for three. What drew me to PALCS is the school’s reputation for strong academics and commitment to students and families. I’m excited for the school year to start and can’t wait to meet my students and their families!”
When Ms. Strellec is not teaching, she is outdoors. She and her husband and son enjoy camping, boating, and gardening. She volunteers for her son’s Cub Scout pack, and she also teach scout overnight programs at the zoo.
