After a brief stint as a U.S. Army drill sergeant he worked selling and installing IBM computer systems in Buffalo, New York. Following the sales job, he was an IBM instructor, where he wrote the curriculum used worldwide for the IBM AS/400 midrange computer system. He taught classes in Philadelphia and across the U.S.
After IBM, he did contract programming for three years, before going back to college and earning his Pennsylvania teaching certifications in mathematics and business and information technology.

Prior to PALCS he taught high school math in Philadelphia for fourteen years.
He qualified for three USGA national golf tournaments. He founded the Tri-State Golf Association, which conducted over two hundred amateur golf tournaments in the Philadelphia area and was the driving force behind the Golf Association of Philadelphia opening their tournaments to public course golfers.
He believes the online, self-paced format of PALCS, is an excellent formula for a motivated student to learn.
