Brief Biography: From the time she was a young girl Ms. Clothier had always wanted to be in education, teaching others. She has always enjoyed teaching others new ways to learn and helping them achieve a better understanding. Ms. Clothier started her teaching career in North Philadelphia as an elementary Health and Physical Education teacher. As employment opportunities presented itself while with her young family, they moved out of state to Florida for eight years before briefly spending time in Virginia.
While in Florida she continued her education earning her elementary education certification which afforded her the opportunity to teach first grade for several years then second grade. Ms. Clothier’s family returned home to Pennsylvania in 2005.
During their relocation from Virginia to Pennsylvania, while working full-time and raising a young family, Ms. Clothier began her Master’s in Education degree. In Pennsylvania she returned to teaching Health and Physical Education at the high school level for another cyber charter school. Missing her elementary experience, she pursued the chance to tutor first through sixth graders during the after-school tutoring program for three years. Ms. Clothier has held several positions with that cyber charter school through the years with her last position as High School Principal.
Ms. Clothier looks forward in continuing to educate, coach, mentor and guide others to work toward their fullest potential. She is excited to be a member of the PALCS community where she hopes to contribute not only her educational experience in the brick and mortar environment, but the virtual one as well, helping to prepare students in becoming successful, independent individuals.
