Supporting the Academic Journey of All Students
At The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, our Counseling Team is committed to providing students with developmental, educational, preventative, and responsive services that foster learning and achievement. Our counselor-to-student ratio aligns with the American School Counseling Association recommendation of one counselor for every 250 students, ensuring personalized and comprehensive support for the students and families we serve.
Each high school counselor works with one grade level, advancing with the students from ninth through twelfth grade. This unique approach allows counselors to build strong, lasting relationships with students throughout their high school journey.
Our dedicated elementary and middle school counselors are passionate about guiding younger students as they discover their interests, develop study habits, and learn more about themselves.
Even though we’re a cyber school, our counselors are always within reach. We offer support through phone calls, messaging, and Zoom meetings. In addition, each counselor offers virtual courses filled with valuable information and resources for both parents and students.

Community Resource Support
At The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, we understand that our families may face challenges that require support from both their school and local community. As such, we have a Community Resource Liaison, who works with students and families to identify school and local community resource support that students & families may need to succeed in life and school.
- Virtual Community Resource Center
The purpose of the PALCS Virtual Community Resource Center is to provide community information and resources to our families and students throughout the state of Pennsylvania, including school-based resources (e.g. PALCS School Counseling, PALCS Health Services, Student Assistance Program information and more) and community-based resources (e.g. Community Resource Locators, Food Resources, Internet Resources, Housing Organizations and more). NOTE: Resources are often changing, so PALCS does its’ best to regularly monitor, update and add to this statewide resource list. - PALCS Community Closet
The PALCS Community Closet is available to students and families in-need statewide. Largely donation-based, the Community Closet offers tangible support with items like clothing, food (non-perishable), hygiene items and school supplies. The PALCS Community Closet is created and maintained by our PALCS Community for our PALCS Community, to serve those who may find themselves in need for any reason. In particular, our Community Closet is often a meaningful support for our students and families currently experiencing homelessness. For items not available through our PALCS Community Closet, staff will work with families to identify local organizations and programs offering needed resources.
