Student Activities
High school is a crucial time in which students undergo a great deal of personal development, and that can only be achieved with a well-rounded education and plenty of opportunities for student activities! That’s why we offer a variety of excursions, field trips, clubs, and more throughout the school year.
Clubs and groups for high schoolers are plenty, including those in the languages, art, writing, gaming, mental health awareness, honor societies, student government and even American Sign Language! At PALCS, there is truly no shortage of activities, and we encourage students to explore their interests whenever they can.
What’s more, we offer an abundance of field trips for high schoolers, including gardens, national monuments, sporting events, science centers, zoos, museums, and even behind-the-scenes tours. On these outings, students have the chance to meet their peers as well as faculty members and enjoy trips that are both educational and engaging for the whole family.
For those interested in the arts, PALCS offers trips to local plays — and we have even encouraged students to dress up for the local Renaissance Faire! In the past, students have also enjoyed trips in which biology and animal science were explored, visiting the zoos in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh as well as smaller zoos in Elmwood and Hershey.
Whether it’s the end-of-year picnic, a trip the museum, or connecting to other families with the Parent Network, PALCS offers many ways to socialize and get to know others in the PALCS community.

Engagement Beyond the Cyber High School Classroom
At PALCS, we know how important it is for our high schoolers to be able to socialize and engage with other students, friends, and teachers. That’s why we offer a number of exciting extracurricular activities to help students develop their interests, feel included in our community, and enjoy their online high school experience. At PALCS, students can enjoy field trips, school dances, clubs, and activities with students from across Pennsylvania — and even explore another country for educational travel!
Get To Know Your Teachers
Our teachers are one of the best things about attending school at PALCS! They bring passion, knowledge and joy to their virtual classrooms each and every day.
Our students truly enjoy learning more about the world around them. Naturally curious, independent, ambitious and inquisitive, our high schoolers enjoy many opportunities to socialize and develop friendships with others who may have similar (or even not-so-similar!) interests.
Whether you’re looking for a academic-based club like the Future Business Leaders of America, Tri-M Music Honor Society, or the National Honor Society, or you’re interested in learning more about gaming, sketching, creative writing or even anime, high schoolers enjoy plenty of opportunities for socialization throughout their time at PALCS.
Plus, with PALCS enrolling students from across the state, there’s sure to be someone from your local area to connect with and maybe even arrange a virtual meet-up!
