Brief Biography: Julia’s first experience with teaching started when she was thirteen-year-old blackbelt at Odyssey Karate in Coatesville, PA. From there, she’s taught or tutored in some capacity at the West Chester University Writing Center, in WCU’s Golden Ram Marching Band, at various high school marching band programs, at three different public and private high schools, and at Drexel University.
Outside of teaching, Julia enjoys long walks with her mini bernedoodle, Hazel Basil (affectionately nicknamed “Bagel”). She is married to Daniel Warner who works for the college of Engineering at Villanova University. Julia also loves pottery, local bookstores, a good green iced tea, and illustrating.
Currently, Julia is working on a few writing and illustrative projects including a YA dystopian series, a children’s picture book, and a memoir. If you’re local to the Downingtown area of PA, then you could read her writing in East Brandywine Neighbors, a neighborhood-centered magazine that features nearby events, local families, and seasonal fun.
