School Board Meeting Conduct & Procedures

  • Meetings take place on site at our West Chester Pike Building. At that location, we have room video and audio pickups to broadcast in the Board Meeting Zoom Room.
  • There is a Public Session and an Executive Session. The Executive Session takes place prior to the public meeting and is for legal, real estate and personnel matters.
  • Board Meetings follow an agenda. There are opening activities including Roll Call and the Pledge of Allegiance. Public Comments are heard after the call for additions, deletions or modifications to the Agenda or previous month’s meeting. Those seeking to make a public comment are encouraged to notify us prior to the meeting. Please email bot@palcs.org with your name and the topic you wish you comment on.
  • The Public Comment portion of the Board Meetings is for the public to make comments. It is not an opportunity for the public to engage in discussion with the board members. The Public Comment portion is for parents and other community members to make statements and share their opinion on school related matters.
  • Each visitor wishing to make public comments will be limited to several minutes, typically 2:00-3:00 minutes. Those making comments will be verbally warned when they have 30 seconds of time remaining. Board meeting room moderators reserve the right to mute members of the public when they exceed their allotted time.
  • Board Meetings are broadcast and recorded in Zoom. Recording links are posted on our website along with agendas and minutes. The public will be permitted to enter the meeting for the public sessions which begin after the Executive Session. Members of the public that arrive early, will wait in the Zoom Waiting Room.
