The students of the PALCS Center for Performing and Fine Arts (CPFA) are proudly presenting sold-out performances of this year’s spring musical, the Student Edition of Sweeney Todd. After weeks of rehearsals and hard work, under the direction of CPFA acting teacher, Mr. Jarad Benn, the cast and crew are so excited to be sharing their interpretation of the musical thriller.

After selling out their entire first run of the show, CPFA had to add additional performances which have also sold out! Originally scheduled to run performances of the spring musical from March 22nd-26th including one preview performance, additional performances were added for March 30th-April 1st. With the success of the first six shows, it is no surprise that the final three have also sold out.

Winner of 8 Tony awards, the dark musical tale of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street has captured audiences since debuting on Broadway in 1979. The story of Sweeney Todd takes place in 19th century London, when a local barber, who had previously been exiled, returns seeking revenge on those who had wronged him in the past. With music and lyrics by renowned composer Stephen Sondheim and book by playwright Hugh Wheeler, the musical was based on a 1973 play of the same name, by playwright Christopher Bond.

We would like to thank all who have come out to see the shows and who have purchased a ticket to see our talented and ambitious students doing what they love. On behalf of all of us here at PALCS, we would like to wish the hard working cast and crew luck with their final shows and congratulate them on all of their sold out performances! Break a leg!
