This past week marked 2017’s National School Counseling Week! Taking place from February 6th to February 10th, this special week celebrates the work of dedicated school counselors in schools across the United States.
The theme this year was “School Counseling: Helping students realize their potential”. This week highlights the immense impact that counselors with in schools have on their students. Whether it’s helping them choose their classes or helping them choose their future, counselors are a vital component in the education system.
Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), National School Counseling week encourages schools to show their support for their counselors by doing something special each day to celebrate.
On Friday, February 10th, PALCS showed their support and appreciation for the PALCS Guidance department and counselors by participating in “College-Wear Day.” Faculty and students were asked to sport their college pride in an effort to get students thinking about their options for the future.
PALCS would like to thank all of our dedicated counselors and the entire Guidance Department for all of the hard work they do and all the support they give to our students and families! It’s because of their passion and concern for our students that families have such a positive experience with PALCS.
Make sure to check out the PALCS Guidance Blog for useful college, career, financial and social information for students and families!
