New to the PA Leadership Charter School this year is 7th grader Dylan Boyd, who is coming to PALCS fresh off his New York Broadway debut starring as George in “Finding Neverland”. During his time as George, the oldest of the Davies brothers, Dylan was able to learn to play the Ukulele. Dylan is very hardworking and a disciplined singer and actor.

Although he may be new to PALCS, Dylan is not new to the theater. Previously cast as Ralphie in the National West Coast Tour of “A Christmas Story,” Dylan has also done voice work for Nickelodeon and has guest-starred on “The Jim Gaffigan Show.”

Dylan and his family reside in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and continuously travel back and forth to New York City for Dylan’s auditions and shows. Before enrolling in PALCS, when he was starring in shows, tutors were provided for the students; however, when on tour for “A Christmas Story” there were only two tutors total for twelve different students. In addition, they were traveling to a new city almost every night so it was very difficult to keep up with school work and find time to work with the two tutors. Although Dylan was able to keep his grades satisfactory, he did struggle with math due to being in a general classroom environment.

PALCS was recommended to Dylan’s parents from family friends with students currently enrolled. His mother wanted him to have an opportunity to be the best that he can be and decided that a general classroom setting may not be the best place for him. She did not want him to be discouraged or math to be an “uphill battle“ because when he is working alone, he has fun with math and is an exceptional student. The family hopes that PALCS will not only give Dylan the flexibility he needs to pursue his Broadway career but also allow him to be successful and stay on top of his studies.

On behalf of all of us here at PALCS we would like to welcome Dylan and his family with open arms and offer our congratulations on all of his wonderful accomplishments and encouragement for future success!
