October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and here at PALCS, we are celebrating all month long! We want to join together as a community to prevent bullying and make positive changes. The PALCS Guidance Department will be spearheading and sponsoring many activities through the month of October to promote bullying prevention.
Unity Day: We will be celebrating Unity Day on October 25th by joining together to wear orange. Make sure to wear your orange on the 25th and post your photos of support to PALCS social media using #PALCSUnite.
The Kindness Rocks Project: The Kindness Rocks Project encourages everyone to make kindness contagious by spreading optimism. In addition to performing daily random acts of kindness, participants are encouraged to craft positive messages. Here at PALCS, we will be creating our own Kindness Rocks and encourage you all to do the same! All you need is a rock and a positive message. Grab a rock and write a positive message on it or paint a happy picture. The message can be one word or image that could mean the world to someone. Take a picture with your Kindness Rock and post your picture using the hashtags #palcskindnessrock and #PALCSUnite, then place your rock for someone else to find. Suggestions include your neighbor’s garden or your local community park. Whatever location you choose for your rock, remember that one message at just the right moment can change someone’s entire life.
The Kindness Wall: The Kindness Wall encourages all students, faculty, and staff to share their kind thoughts and motivational ideas on a website. The website is a digital “wall” that the PALCS community can access for encouragement. PALCS families, visit PALCSchool for the link to the Kindness and Motivation Wall and share your kind words.
Make sure to check PALCSchool for ways to get involved in National Bullying Prevention Month and be sure to wear your orange on October 25th in support for Unity Day. Join PALCS in showing your kindness each day through your words and actions. Stand together against bullying!
