On Friday, October 10th, 2018, a group of PALCS families and staff met up at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, located on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

The Renaissance Faire’s “School Days at the Faire” allows students to journey back to a 16th century English country faire and become immersed in the culture of the 35-acre Elizabethan village. The streets were lively with merchants, nobles, and peasants. Everyone in attendance had a unique and fun experience.

Our students have the opportunity to learn about the sport of falconry and medieval knights armor, sword fought strangers, danced among peasants, and witnessed a Tournament Joust and a Human Chess Match. Some of our students even had the honor of meeting King Henry and Queen Catherine!

In addition to all the excitement, PALCS students were challenged to participate in a PALCS Photo Scavenger Hunt. Given a list of unusual dares, students had to check things off their list by taking a photo of the task to prove it. Some of the items on the scavenger hunt included: bow to the Queen, converse with the King, dance with a wench, eat a turkey leg, and pose with a statue. Check out some of our student’s photos from the Photo Scavenger Hunt!

What a memorable day for the PALCS community! We would like to thank all of our students and their families who made the trip and participated in the Photo Scavenger Hunt.

PALCS families, be sure to check PALCSchool and your school calendar for upcoming events, field trips and activity group details!
