The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School recently earned recognition for the value that’s highlighted in the school’s name.
In a ceremony on Sept. 25, 2026, PALCS CEO Dr. Karla Johnson accepted the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Top Workplaces Leadership Award in the Large Employer category.
The Post-Gazette determines Top Workplaces award winners based on surveys sent out to employees. PALCS won the award based on school employees telling the survey they have confidence in the school’s leadership.
Dr. Johnson accepted the award on behalf of the entire school, which includes hundreds of employees and thousands of students.
“The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is an online charter school that has been defined by believing that every student should receive the education they deserve,” Dr. Johnson said in her acceptance speech.
“I am in awe and enamored every time I see our teachers doing what they do,” Dr. Johnson went on to say in her speech. “Everyone at PALCS has a spirit of excellence.”
