April is Month of the Military Child (MOMC), a special time to honor the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of children in military-connected families.
At The Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School (PALCS), we are proud to celebrate this important month and show appreciation for the military-connected students in our community.
To kick off the month, PALCS CEO-Elect, Dr. Karla Johnson, shared a special video message with our students and families. In the video, Dr. Johnson highlights the importance of supporting military children at PALCS, recognizing the distinct challenges they face and celebrating their important role as members of our school community.
As part of our celebration, PALCS hosted a school-wide Purple Up! Day. This school spirit initiative encouraged students, teachers, and staff to wear purple to show their support for military-connected students. Combining the colors of each branch of the military, purple symbolizes unity amongst all military children.
PALCS is honored to be a Purple Star School, a designation that shows our strong commitment to supporting military-connected students in cyber school. With extensive resources, specialized counseling services, and a dedicated military liaison, we help ensure a positive educational experience for military children.
We are proud to support our military families and honor their children this April and everyday. Thank you for choosing us to be your school of choice!
