From Sunday, January 26 through Saturday, February 1, 2025, PALCS celebrated the 15th Annual National School Choice Week! As a top-ranked online public school in Pennsylvania, PALCS is committed to expanding school choice opportunities for families seeking flexible, high-quality education options. We commemorated the week on our social media and with some appearances at school choice events.
2025 Harrisburg Capitol Press Conference
On January 28, 2025 PALCS joined PA Families for Education Choice and the National School Choice Awareness Foundation at the State Capitol Building for a press conference celebrating National School Choice Week 2025! PALCS students had the amazing opportunity to represent PALCS at the conference with three outstanding performances.
CPFA Choir Performance
CPFA chorale students opened the conference with a high-energy, captivating performance of “Hope Lingers On” by Lissa Schneckenburger. The song, which is about choosing hope above all else, was the perfect introduction to the event.
Student Speech – Jo Hughes
Following speeches from PaFEC founder Sharon Sedlar, school administrators, and state officials, PALCS and CPFA junior Josephine “Jo” Hughes took to the podium to talk about school choice. Jo’s speech centered around how PALCS and CPFA transformed her educational experience and became her “second home.” Her speech was packed with emotion and delivered with power, making it a stand-out moment from the conference.
CPFA Dance Performance
To close out the conference, CPFA dance students took to the bottom of the rotunda steps to perform the official School Choice Week dance, “Ready to Groove?” The fun and up-beat performance left everyone with a renewed sense of excitement and conviction for school choice.
2025 Harrisburg School Choice Fair
On Saturday, February 1, 2025, for the second consecutive year, the PALCS School Communications team attended the Harrisburg School Choice Fair hosted by PA Families for Education Choice (PaFEC).
PALCS was joined by representatives from a number of other PA schools, as well as from local organizations. With each organization running a table, the students and families in attendance had the opportunity to visit each one and explore their school choice options.

At the PALCS table, guests were invited to color a custom individual button and grab some fun swag!

This event was such a fun celebration of school choice and the dedicated educational community in PA.
